TUNISIAN POWDER DIFFRACTION SCHOOL 2022

Powder-diffraction methods have demonstrated an ever increasing range of applications in materials science, chemistry, physics, life sciences and engineering.

The purpose of the TPDS 2022 is to explore during 3 days the the basic theory behind powder diffraction with the help and the guide of recognized experts in the field. Participants are supposed to be already familiar with both the fundamentals of crystallography and X-ray powder diffraction.

This School aims to cover all stages of sample analysis, beginning at sample preparation, experimental setup through to wavelength refinement and qualitative and quantitative analysis. In support of this, topics to be covered will include:

– POWDER DIFFRACTION INSTRUMENTATION
– PHYSICS OF DIFFRACTION AND CRYSTALLOGRAPHY IN RECIPROCAL SPACE
– INTRODUCTION TO POWDER DIFFRACTION THEORY & INTERPRETATION OF XRPD PATTERNS
– POWDER DIFFRACTION AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS
