MODULATED THERMOELECTRICS

STOE User Talk in Cooperation with DECTRIS. Featuring Dr. Berthold Stöger, X-Ray Center at the TU Wien, Vienna, Austria.

Sulfosalts are a family of sulfide, selenide or telluride minerals. We synthesized Se analogues of natural Pb/Cu/Sb-based sulfosalts, which are potential thermoelectrics and ion-conductors. Their structures can be derived from the galena (PbS; NaCl type) structure. Yet the structure chemistry and crystallography are surprisingly complex, featuring incommensurate modulation and multidomain structures.
