STOE IPDS 2T

Combining high angle data with highest data quality and reliability

STOE’s IPDS 2T combines all the achievements of the IPDS II with the possibility to turn the whole goniometer around the Θ axis to an angle of up to 60° yielding a 2Θmax of 137°! This additional axis makes the IPDS 2T a diffractometer of unique versatility. Featuring also the dual beam capability for using two different wavelengths on the same instrument the structure solution of small molecules and proteins as well as electron density determination and powder investigations are no challenge for the IPDS 2T.

Features

  • One single instrument for small molecules, proteins
  • Perfect for weak scatterers
  • Reliable intensities of very weak and very strong reflections within the same frame
  • Long lifetime, low maintenance, low costs of ownership
  • Extend the features of IPDSII by collecting data up to 137° in 2θ
  • Useful for Co radiation and electron density measurements

X-ray fibre optics

On STOE’s Imaging Plate Diffraction Systems IPDS II, IPDS 2T and the STADIVARI with the DECTRIS PILATUS detector the normal pin hole collimator can be exchanged against an X-ray fibre optic. The use of this optic provides a gain in intensity depending on the anode material (eg. factor 2 for Mo Kα, better for Cu Kα), sample dimension (and sample-to-detector distance).

  • In this way the well known accuracy of the data sets can now be obtained in 1/2 of the exposure time with Mo radiation.
  • The data quality stays the same or is even better while no significant raise in the background is observed.
  • No broadening of peak halfwidths could be detected.

The X-ray fibre optic is an effective and inexpensive alternative to a rotating anode at the STOE Imaging Plate Diffraction System IPDS II, IPDS 2T and the StadiVari with the DECTRIS PILATUS detector.

Goniometer heads

STOE provides the suitable goniometer head for each task, whether large, standard or small, lockable x,y,z or fully height adjustable, all STOE goniometer heads are of excellent precision, have the standard IUCR mount and are delivered with the necessary equipment.

Low- and high-temperature attachments

Low Temperature
O.E.M. attachments like the Oxford Cryosystems coolers can easily be mounted on each STOE single crystal diffractometer. The low cost and low maintenance Desktop Cooler (DTC) can be used as well as the traditional Cryostream or the non-liquid nitrogen Cobra.

Heatstream
As non-ambient methods are becoming increasingly popular, STOE provides a powerful high-temperature attachment for its single crystal diffractometers, the HEATSTREAM.

Features
– Temperature range from RT to 1000 K
– Temperature accuracy within +/- 1 K – Heating medium N2
– No limitation in 2Θ, ω or &phi
– Vertical gas flow for optimal sample heating
